Chelsea star Jorginho's future remains uncertain after the midfielder reportedly rejected an offer to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho, 30, arrived in west London in the summer of 2018 after following Maurizio Sarri to the club from Napoli.

He has since established himself as a key figure with the Blues, renowned for his steady midfield play and reliable distribution as well as his prowess from the penalty spot.

But the Italy international's current deal expires next summer and if Chelsea cannot convince him to sign an extension there will be no shortage of suitors interested in his services.

According to reports Jorginho rebuffed an initial approach from the Blues which would have kept his salary at its original level.

The midfielder is said to want a deal in line with that given to Cesar Azpilicueta, which included a pay raise amid strong interest in the Spain star from Barcelona.

Talks between Chelsea and Jorginho's agent will continue to run, but several European giants will also be watching with keen interest.

Juventus, Milan and Barcelona have all been linked with the player, although they will not be able to make an official approach until January if he has still not put pen to paper.

Jorginho has racked up more than 200 games for Chelsea in his four years at the club, scoring 28 goals in all competitions.

He boasts four major trophies at Stamford Bridge, including the 2020-21 Champions League title lifted under Thomas Tuchel.
