How much will Man Utd-target Antonio Silva cost?

Manchester United and Liverpool target Antonio Silva will cost between €80-90 million, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Silva has been one of the break-out stars of the 2022-23 season for Benfica, particularly standing out in the Champions League in the matches against PSG and Juventus.

Manchester United are understood to be considering a move for the January window but he has a release clause of €100 million, having signed a contract back in September that runs until the summer of 2027.

Liverpool have also been heavily linked to the 18-year-old, as have Ligue 1 champions PSG.

What did Romano say about Antonio Silva?

“Remember the name: Antonio Silva,” Romano wrote in his CaughtOffside column.

“He’s a top player for the future, of course, he needs some time to improve his skills but Benfica are convinced he will be worth €80-90m in the future.

“I’ve seen some reports of Liverpool and Manchester United looking at him. For sure, top clubs are following him but it’s important to say that there’s still nothing serious or concrete, as of now.

“He is still developing as a player, but let’s see where he is in a few years, the future looks bright for him.”
