Mohamed Salah signs new contract

Mohamed Salah's new Liverpool contract has seen him join the list of the top 10 highest-paid footballers in the world.

The Egyptian international has put pen to paper on a new deal that now sees him contracted at Anfield until 2025.

Jurgen Klopp's side were unable to convince Sadio Mane to sign a new contract and the Senegalese forward has joined Bayern Munich.

However, Salah has agreed to continue his stay at Liverpool and has signed a contract that will see him earn £400,000 (€465,000) per week. That works out at £20.8 million per year.

Salah's new deal sees him enter the top 10 of the most well-paid player in the entire world and he's become the best-paid player in Liverpool's history.

He has also become the highest earner in the Premier League, leapfrogging the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin de Bruyne.

But, where does Salah rank in the top 10 of the world's highest-paid football players?

Kylian Mbappe decided to reject Real Madrid's advances this summer and instead opted to sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

That fresh deal saw the Frenchman become the highest-paid player in the world on a weekly wage of £1m (€1.16m) per week . In fact, Mbappe earns £600,000 (€696,000) more than the Salah, who leads the way in the Premier League.

Salah's new deal sees him slip into fourth place and he's followed by Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin de Bruyne, who both earn £385,000 (€447,000).

The Premier League theme continues with De Bruyne's new Manchester City team-mate Erling Haaland and Man Utd's David de Gea, who are tied for joint seventh.

Antoine Griezmann and Robert Lewandowski round off the top 10.
