Fernandes demands more from Man Utd after contract renewal
In the week of his contract renewal with Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes has called for the club to improve across the board and to aim higher. His comments came after the Red Devils’ latest disappointing a result, a 1-1 draw at home to Leicester City on Saturday evening.
That result delivered a huge blow to Manchester United’s Champions League hopes, with Ralf Rangnick’s side now in sixth on 51 points, three behind fourth-placed Arsenal despite having already played two games more.

Fernandes has put pen to paper on a deal that should keep him at Old Trafford until 2026, so he doesn’t want to be playing in the Europa League, as it looks like he will be in the 2022/23 season.
“Everyone is disappointed,” Fernandes told MUTV after the draw with Leicester on Saturday. “This result was not the result that we want but there is nothing we can do now. We have to look ahead to the next game and understand that the standard of this club has to be higher and better, and we know that we are capable of that. You have to think about winning every game we have to do that going forward.”

In the studios, various pundits echoed Bruno Fernandes’ comments by insisting that Manchester United should be doing better.
"That was a really tough watch today,” said Gary Neville on Sky Sports. “I'm not angry, I don't think any Manchester United fans left the ground angry tonight, because we've gone probably past anger. We're just flat, we're bored.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Redknapp added: “There's no joy in their play. Manchester United fans must go to games just thinking 'What are we going to get today?' They look lethargic. They are just not enjoying their football right now. They are drifting.”
