OFFICIAL: Newcastle confirm signing of Brighton's Dan Burn

Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Brighton defender Dan Burn.
Burn arrives at St James' Park for a fee of €15 million (£13m) after spending two-and-a-half years at Brighton following his move from Wigan Athletic.

He has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at the club.
The defender, who can play left-back or centre-back, was born in Blyth, and grew up a Newcastle fan, and it's understood that Brighton weren't keen on getting in the way of a dream return home.
Burn is Newcastle's fifth signing of the January transfer window, following permanent moves for Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, Burnley striker Chris Wood and Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier. Aston Villa full-back Matt Targett has also arrived on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old Burn has played 16 times for Brighton in all competitions this season, scoring once, as they sit ninth in the Premier League.

He joins a Newcastle team who are currently 18th in the division, one point off safety.
A deal was put in place with days left of the window, but has only just been officially completed following hours of waiting on deadline day.
Burn will form part of a new backline at Newcastle, with manager Eddie Howe relying on reinforcements in their bid to escape relegation.
In an official statement on the club website, Burn said: "I'm buzzing to be here. I never thought I'd be in this position so to be a Newcastle player and to be around St. James' Park, it's something I've dreamt of since I was a kid.
"I can't wait to step out in the shirt and to see what it feels like. From sitting in the East Stand as a kid to now, it's crazy. I'm excited to get started."
