Why Man Utd will not loan Lingard to Newcastle

Manchester United have rejected an approach from Newcastle to take Jesse Lingard on loan for six months.
Lingard's contract at Old Trafford expires this summer and he has been linked with either a loan or permanent move away in the January transfer window a few months before that contract ends.
Last season, the England international didn't play a single minute of Premier League action for the Red Devils until January when he completed a loan move to West Ham.
Lingard played 16 games for the Hammers, scoring nine times and grabbing five assists. The numbers were backed up by energetic and wholehearted performances in keeping with the dynamic style which saw him break into the Manchester United team in the middle of the last decade.

In the summer of 2021, West Ham attempted to sign him permanently but were ultimately priced out of a transfer.
When Lingard didn't leave Man Utd, it was thought that he would play a bigger role at the club in 2021/22.
But, he has failed to start a single Premier League game and has been limited to just 273 minutes of action in all competitions.
Why won't United let Lingard leave?
According to BBC Sport, Newcastle have attempted to sign Lingard on loan only for the offer to be rejected by Man Utd.
The reason for this is that the Red Devils do not want to sanction a loan that would ultimately end Lingard's 22-year association with the club, as any six-month loan would take him to the end of his current contract.
At the moment, Lingard is available to talk to other clubs about a potential move as a free agent in July.
In January, West Ham and Tottenham have enquired about taking Lingard on loan, but Man Utd don't want to allow the player to leave to a top-four rival.
As for Lingard himself, he wants to wait until the summer to decide his future.
