Paul Pogba’s brother hopes the Man Utd star will move to Barcelona this summer
The brother of Manchester United star Paul Pogba has admitted that he would love to see the midfielder move to Barcelona this summer.
Pogba has been a consistent member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season and could finish the campaign with a top four finish in the Premier League and a Europa League winner’s medal.
However, the France international’s future at the club remains a topic of great concern for Man Utd fans with seemingly very little changing since Pogba’s agent suggested that the player wanted to leave the Old Trafford club in January.
Indeed, with a contract at Man Utd until 2022, Pogba could easily refuse to sign a new deal with the club and sign a pre-contract agreement with any club in Europe next January, before leaving for free in the following summer transfer window.
And while his brother Mathias is still unsure as to where Pogba will end up next season, he hopes to see trh midfielder sign for Barcelona before too long.
“Let him win the Europa League already, then we’ll talk,” said Pogba’s brother in an interview with El Chiringuito. “I don’t know anything.”
However, when asked if he’d like to see his brother make the move to Barcelona this summer, Mathias said: “I will sign him tomorrow if that is the question. I hope he will sign for Barca.”
Could Pogba leave Man Utd this summer?
While Pogba and his agent have gone quiet on the player potentially forcing a move this summer, it remains a very serious possibility unless the midfielder signs a new deal with Man Utd.
With no clear sign of an extension being agreed anytime soon, it would then make sense for Man Utd to cash in on the midfielder this summer. Especially if Solskjaer still harbours ambitions of signing stars like Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this year.
However, as we’ve seen with Eric Bailly and Edinson Cavani’s recent circumstances at the club, it often seems as though players are on their way out the door at Old Trafford before a new contract is announced.
