Manchester United’s January transfer window is quickly being dominated by the demands of one player: Anthony Martial.

The France international’s agent confirmed prior to the turn of the year Martial was determined to leave the Old Trafford side in his current window and since then the forward has refused to feature for Man Utd.

"Yes, he didn't want to be in the squad," Rangnick said after the club’s 2-2 draw with Aston Vila on Saturday.

"He would have been in the squad normally but he didn't want to and that was the reason why he didn't travel with us yesterday."

As such, it seems certain that Man Utd will cash in on the player in the coming weeks if the right kind of offer can come through the fax machine.

But what clubs are interested in signing the France international and how much can the Old Trafford club expect to make from their wantaway forward?

How much could Man Utd sell Martial for?

Despite struggling for form at Old Trafford and now demanding a move away from the club, Martial is still a valuable player on paper.

The forward is just 26 years of age and has a contract with Man Utd until 2024. As such, Martial is still valued at €50 million.

That means any potential buyers will likely have to fork over between €37-62 million for Martial in January.

Who wants to buy him?

Martial’s discomfort with his situation at Man Utd has been a poorly-guarded secret for some time and as such the player has been linked with a number of clubs around Europe.

However, according to numerous reports in England, the Old Trafford side are determined to make their money back on Martial. That means a substantial fee or a loan move with the player’s wages fully covered and an agreed fee set in writing.

As such, Barcelona, Juventus and Sevilla have been tipped as the main contenders to sign Martial, with each club reportedly prepared to cover his wages and offer him the game time he’s looking for.

However, the most intriguing - and perhaps most likely - rumour comes from London, where Arsenal have apparently held a long-term interest in signing Martial to upgrade their own struggling front line.

Unlike Baca or Juventus, Arsenal have the funds to pay for Martial’s transfer fee and salary. Which may make the London club the ideal destination for the French forward.
