Victor Osimhen’s imminent move to Galatasaray on a permanent deal is set to open the door for Benjamin Sesko to complete a surprise transfer to Al-Hilal.

The Nigeria superstar has been the subject of a transfer tug-of-war for several months, amid significant interest in his signature, but he has now chosen to rejoin Galatasaray following a successful loan spell at the club last season.

The Turkish giants have agreed to pay Osimhen’s €75 million release clause in full, and the 26-year-old has already finalised personal terms with Okan Buruk’s side as he prepares to leave Napoli on a permanent basis after five years at the club.

Osimhen rejected the chance to join Al-Hilal on two occasions this summer, despite being offered a €160m contract proposal, and the Saudi Pro League outfit have now accepted defeat, despite initially attempting to hijack his move to Galatasaray.

They have now turned their attention to signing Sesko, according to a bombshell report from The Sun.

Benjamin Sesko to Al-Hilal?

Sesko has been heavily linked with an RB Leipzig departure following their failure to qualify for Europe, but talk of an exit has died down in recent weeks after Arsenal opted against completing a deal this summer.

The Slovenia international was identified as a top target by Mikel Arteta’s side after an encouraging two years at Leipzig, however the Gunners were unwilling to match his €100m price tag.

Arsenal were also put off by his demand to have a release clause included in his contract at the Emirates Stadium, as exclusively revealed by The Transfers Podcast, and they eventually opted to pursue a deal for Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres instead.

Sesko is now reportedly on Al-Hilal’s radar, along with Crystal Palace star Jean-Philippe Mateta, and a move to Saudi Arabia could be on the cards this summer.

The 22-year-old, whose RB Leipzig contract is due to expire in 2029, scored 21 goals in 45 appearances last summer, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €69.6m.
