Manchester United are in the lead to secure the signing of Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, FootballTransfers has been told.

The 22-year-old has been a standout performer in the Premier League this season, particularly in the second half of the campaign where he provided seven goal contributions in the last six games.

Newcastle have put the player on the top of their wish list but their attempts to bring the youngster in are set to be dashed, with Olise favouring a switch to Old Trafford.

Olise, believed to be a boyhood Man Utd fan, is likely to leave Palace in the summer, with a release clause of around €70 million set in the deal that he signed last year.

FootballTransfers is aware of the reports which suggest that the release clause is subject to a certain condition but we have been unable to verify what that is so far.

Sources inform us that Man Utd are looking to upgrade their right flank following the dismay display this season of Antony. Furthermore, Olise has the Premier League experience and youth that Ineos are looking for as they look to rejuvenate the squad.

Their interest in Olise aligns with their strategy of signing young, high-potential players who can make an immediate impact while also developing for the future.

Will Man Utd have money this window?

As previously reported, the Red Devils should have significant funds for the window, though it will be restricted somewhat should they fail to beat Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe will look to fortify the club's financial position this year by injecting personal funds into the club, a move that would allow an increase in allowable losses from €20m to €122m over this accounting period.

This is expected to provide Man Utd with a substantial boost in its spending capabilities in the summer, though the actual amount will vary depending on qualification for the Europa League.
