Chelsea Transfer News Today: Romano CONFIRMS next signing as €68m offer submitted
FootballTransfers runs through all the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Kenan Yildiz and Jorrel Hato.
Kenan Yildiz bid rejected
Chelsea have seen a €68 million offer for Kenan Yildiz rejected by Juventus, according to a bombshell report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Turkey international has been linked with a move to Chelsea for several months and the Blues remain interested in completing a deal, despite their advanced pursuit of RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.
However, they have seen an offer worth between €65-658m swiftly turned down by Juventus as the Serie A giants have no intention of selling Yildiz this summer.
Jorrel Hato to snub Chelsea?
Arsenal have initiated talks with Ajax as they look to hijack Chelsea’s proposed move for Jorrel Hato.
That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who state that Arsenal are confident of winning the race for Hato’s signature, with the 19-year-old seen as a “long-term strategic investment” by the Gunners.
However, Chelsea remain the frontrunners to land Hato, having already reached a verbal agreement over personal terms, as per CaughtOffside.
Dutch outlet De Telegraaf claim that Ajax have set their asking price at between €55-60m for the defender, while Fabrizio Romano states that €40m may be enough for Chelsea to land the Netherlands international.
Raheem Sterling to Fulham?
Chelsea have been handed a boost in their bid to offload Raheem Sterling following news that Fulham are interested in landing the winger this summer.
The 30-year-old endured a tough loan spell at Arsenal last season, but The Telegraph claim that he is being considered by Fulham, who are also monitoring the situation of fellow Chelsea star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Sterling is open to moving to Craven Cottage, but it is understood that Marco Silva’s side will likely wait until later in the window before making a concrete move.
Transfer hijack agreed
Chelsea have successfully beaten as many as eight clubs to the signing of Crystal Palace youngster Jesse Derry, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Derry’s medical in west London took place on Friday and he will join Chelsea’s famous academy set-up after opting to leave Selhurst Park.
According to transfer insider Romano, the teenager initially looked set to move to Germany, but Chelsea managed to swoop in and hijack the deal.
