The 2025 summer transfer window is well into its final month and high-profile deals continue to be completed every single day.

Clubs across world football have once again spent huge sums of money on new signings ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, and superstars such as Florian Wirtz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Viktor Gyokeres and Paul Pogba are among those to have moved teams this summer.

Premier League clubs have unsurprisingly been the dominant force in the market this summer, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City currently the five biggest spenders in the world.

Those five clubs have acted quickly to finalise their business before the new season kicks off, however a number of major deals are still expected to go through before Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September.

Chelsea, for example, are hoping to finalise the signings of RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons and Man Utd winger Alejandro Garnacho, while they are eager to offload the likes of Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, Raheem Sterling, Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson on permanent deals.

Liverpool continue to be linked with a blockbuster move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, although the Magpies are reluctant to sanction a sale this summer, despite exiling the Sweden international from first-team training.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are now exploring a move for Man City winger Savinho amid rumours that a €50m deal could be possible.

On the continent, Ademola Lookman has handed in a transfer request as he looks to force through a move to Inter Milan, Dusan Vlahovic continues to be linked with a Juventus exit and Marc Casado could leave Barcelona..

What has happened in the transfer market so far this summer?

As mentioned, clubs in the Premier League have been the biggest spenders by a significant margin this summer.

Liverpool have spent the most of any club in world football thanks to the signings of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi, while Chelsea sit in second place.

Enzo Maresca’s side have completed the signings of Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez in yet another hectic window for the Blues. Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Djordje Petrovic are among the stars to have been sold by the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have all joined Man Utd and will form a new-look forward line at Old Trafford. Man City, on the other hand, have confirmed the signings of Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Marcus Bettinelli.

Arsenal have also been extremely active in the market and they have backed Mikel Arteta with the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cristhian Mosquera, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres.

In Spain, Real Madrid have signed Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Franco Mastantuono and Alvaro Carreras, while their El Clasico rivals Barcelona, who are still battling financial constraints, have added Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on loan.

Meanwhile, Luis Diaz has arrived at Bayern Munich, Jobe Bellingham has followed in his brother's footsteps by signing for Borussia Dortmund, and Paul Pogba has completed his return to football, following a doping ban, by joining AS Monaco on a free transfer.
