Victor Osimhen issued HUGE transfer warning ahead of blockbuster €75m move
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been warned that he will “regret” joining Galatasaray on a permanent deal this summer.
The 26-year-old is on the verge of completing a blockbuster summer move to Galatasaray after the Turkish giants agreed to trigger the €75 million release clause included in his current Napoli contract.
The deal hasn’t yet been finalised, with Napoli wanting “bank guarantees” over the transfer fee, as per Fabrizio Romano, but Osimhen is now expected to join Galatasaray on a permanent basis following a successful loan spell last season.
The Nigeria superstar scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances on loan with the Istanbul outfit last term, and Okan Buruk’s side have rushed to win the race for his signature amid significant competition from multiple clubs across world football.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United were all heavily linked with a move for Osimhen ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window, while Arsenal were previously tipped to pursue a deal amid their desire to sign a new centre forward.
But, all four clubs have decided against signing Osimhen due to his lofty wage demands of €12m-per-year, while the Nigerian has rejected the chance to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in favour of rejoining Galatasaray.
However, former Nigeria midfielder Sunday Oliseh believes his compatriot should make a last-minute transfer u-turn and prioritise a move to the Premier League.
“Victor Osimhen is at a very delicate crossroad,” Oliseh posted on X. “He needs to find his way to the Premier League in a hurry or he risks so much regret! Man United and Arsenal need this player if only…”
Man Utd urged to sign Victor Osimhen
Although Osimhen is set to join Galatasaray this summer, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand is desperate for his former side to hijack the deal and bring the Nigeria superstar to Old Trafford.
“I'm like a broken record. If anyone listens to my podcast, I've said Osimhen for a while now,” Ferdinand told tennis star Nick Kyrgios during an interview with talkSPORT.
“He's a centre-forward, he's experienced, he knows how to score goals at the top level.
"I've seen today that Galatasaray have put a £50million bid in. I mean, £50m to get a top-class striker, one of the top strikers in the world, is absolute peanuts in today's market.
"I'll be disappointed if he goes to Galatasaray for that type of money when Man United are crying out for a No.9.”
