Napoli are used to fighting off interest from the Premier League for star players each and every summer.

However, when it comes to this coming transfer window and the remarkable demand for young striker Victor Osimhen, they may struggle to keep hold of their prized talisman.

There’s no doubt that plenty of eyebrows were raised in 2020, when Osimhen made the move to Italy from Lille for around €70 million, but in that time the young forward has truly excelled with 26 goals and eight assists in just 56 games.

So much so that bigger clubs around Europe are beginning to take notice and could be tempted to try and make a move for the striker this summer.

Who wants to sign Osimhen?

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, there are no less than four Premier League clubs gearing up for a fight over Osimhen’s signature in the summer transfer window.

The publication claims that Manchester United are keen to make the Nigeria international their main summer signing, while Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal are also reportedly keen on signing the player too.

But, assuming Napoli are willing to listen to offers for the player, how much can the Italian club look to make from the striker this year?

How much would he cost?

According to TEAMtalk, Napoli are completely unwilling to consider offers for the striker this summer, despite serious interest from richer clubs.

However, reports in Italy have suggested that the club may blink first if an offer for Osimhen approaches the €100m mark.

Despite signing him for €70m just a few years ago, the market for strikers has hit a notable dip in recent months, with Kylian Mbappe set to move for free and Erling Haaland possibly leaving Borussia Dortmund for far less than Osimhen’s quoted value.

As things currently stand, Osimhen is valued at €28m, but if there’s a bidding war for his signature, Napoli could end up demanding a price as high as €38-45m for the striker. But it seems highly unlikely that they’ll ever make a profit on what they once paid for him.
