The summer window was a crazy one for Chelsea as they were once again one of the biggest spenders.

Article continues under the video

Mauricio Pochettino joined the Blues last summer, however he lasted just 11 months in charge and left by mutual consent on 21 May after a post-season review meeting.

The Blues subsequently announced on 3 June that Enzo Maresca had been appointed as their new manager.

Although Todd Boehly has overseen a spend of more than €1.2 billion on new players since arriving at the club in 2022, there has been no success to show for it, with the Stamford Bridge outfit finishing 12th in his first campaign as owner and sixth in 2023-24.

However, Chelsea continued to target a raft of promising young players, despite the evident need for more experience in the dressing room. Other high-profile targets such as Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney did not arrive.

The west London club signed Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu and Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, while Estevao Willian, Mike Penders and Kendry Paez will arrive in 2025.

In addition, Chelsea sold the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson, with Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva departing on free transfers.

Our Chelsea transfer live blog brings you all the latest news surrounding the Blues, including exclusives from our own reporters as well as checking out what the other big names are saying (including the likes of Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein).

Despite the window being closed, the Stamford Bridge rumour mill continues to be in full swing.

Chelsea plot stunning Arsenal raid

There is increasing speculation that Ethan Nwaneri may leave Arsenal.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season at the Emirates with 25 Premier League games under his belt, but those appearances came during the injury absence of Buyako Saka.

When Saka returned, Nwaneri's minutes became limited, and there is concern in his camp that he may not be given the required opportunities to develop.

Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Barcelona and RB Leipzig are among the clubs monitoring his contract talks. (TBR Football)

Chelsea, Arsenal and others in for Joao Pedro

Chelsea are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Joao Pedro from Brighton.

The Brazilian has been excellent for the Seagulls since his big-money move from Watford and could be ready for the next step-up in his career.

In addition to Chelsea, he is wanted by Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle and could fetch a fee in excess of €70 million. (Fabrizio Romano)

Ronaldo advice for Chelsea signing

Geovany Quenda has revealed some words of advice given to him by one Cristiano Ronaldo.

“He told me to work, to keep working, and that I am very young and a lot will still happen in my life,” he told Lusa in quotes relayed by A Bola.

Quenda is set to follow in Ronaldo's footsteps and move to the Premier League at a young age as he has already agreed a move to Chelsea in the summer of 2026.

There is a small chance the pair could play together for one season as CR7 has been linked with a romantic move back to Sporting if he leaves Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Gyokeres' uncle hints at surprise future plans

Viktor Gyokeres' uncle has suggested the player could spend another year at Sporting CP.

The Swede's incredible goalscoring record and attainable €70 million asking price has seen him linked with a number of clubs this summer including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

But, could he ignore the suitors and stay in Portugal?

His uncle told A Bola: “Do I like Sporting ? Yes, very much... yesterday at dinner we decided that he has to stay! Will he stay at Sporting ? Yes, we think so. We hope so, because, look, we love it, it's incredible, the country, the people and Sporting. We love it!”

Real Madrid BOMB announced as Los Blancos swoop for Williams

Premier League sides have been put on high alert as Real Madrid have allegedly swooped to sign Nico Williams.

The Athletic Club winger will leave his boyhood club this summer and has an attractive release clause of €58 million. He has been strongly linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona and has allegedly started house hunting in London in preparation for a move.

However, Madrid might be preparing for Rodrygo's exit as they have came out of nowhere to pursue Williams. (Marca)

Are Chelsea looking to replace Maresca?

Chelsea could still look to replace Enzo Maresca if the club fail to qualify for the Champions League this weekend.

At the moment, the Blues are fifth in the Premier League but the race for the top four is tight, with them, Newcastle and Aston Villa all sitting on 66 points.

Should they finish outside of the top four, Chelsea may replace Enzo Maresca with recently departed Ajax boss Francesco Farioli. (TuttoMercatoWeb)

Arsenal and Chelsea in for Gordon

Arsenal and Chelsea both want to sign Anthony Gordon in what could be one of the biggest transfer battles of the summer.

Newcastle naturally want to keep the gifted winger at the club but could be forced to sell a prized asset to keep in line with Profit and Sustainability Rules, with the Magpies valuing their man at around €95 million.

Gordon came close to joining Chelsea when Thomas Tuchel was in charge a few years ago but the move never materalised. (iNews)

Barca OUT of Williams race

Barcelona are apparently out of the race to sign Nico Williams.

In a previous post, we detailed that the Blaugrana were still interested in the Athletic Bilbao winger, but Barca president Joan Laporta says the club are looking at other targets.

"Nico Williams was one of the candidates last season, but we decided on Dani Olmo," Laporta told TV3.

"And other options are currently being considered."

This opens up the door for a Premier League move, with Arsenal and Chelsea keen on a deal.

Nico Williams house hunting in London

Nico Williams is reportedly looking to purchase a house in London which could hint that his future lies in the Premier League.

The Spain winger has a release clause of €60 million at Athletic Club which has piqued the interest of Arsenal and Chelsea in England, in particular.

However, Barcelona are said to have reignited their interest in Williams as they want to add a powerful winger to their ranks, while the player is said to be good friends with Lamine Yamal. (El Nacional)
