The Brazil international has been Saudi Arabia’s priority transfer target for several months and Al-Ahli are now stepping up their pursuit of his signature as they look to finalise a deal during the 2026 summer transfer window.

Vinicius has less than two years remaining on his existing contract at Real Madrid and, as exclusively revealed by The Transfers Podcast in March, Los Blancos are willing to sanction a sale if he refuses to lower current wage demands.

The 25-year-old wants to become the highest earner in the Real Madrid squad, but the Spanish giants aren’t willing to grant this wish and they are therefore open to negotiating a sale in 2026.

A move to Saudi Arabia is on the cards and Al-Ahli are eager to win the race for his signature amid competition from several other clubs in the Middle East.

This has been confirmed by renowned social media account IndyKaila, who posted on X: “Exclusive. Al-Ahli in direct talks with Real Madrid regarding Vinicius Jr. Al Ahli to submit £300m (€345m) bid for the superstar.

“If the new Real Madrid contract offer is rejected by Vinícius Jr, the player will be sold to Saudi Arabia in the summer.”

Vinicius Jr to leave Real Madrid?

Vinicius is widely expected to join a club in Saudi Arabia if he is unable to finalise contract extension terms with Real Madrid, and reports in Spain suggest that Florentino Perez has already decided to sell the 25-year-old next summer.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been earmarked as Real Madrid’s dream replacement for Vinicius, with Kylian Mbappe likely to be shifted to the left flank in order to accommodate the Norwegian, while Paris Saint-Germain’s Desire Doue is also on Los Blancos’ transfer shortlist.

Vinicius has scored five goals and provided four assists in 10 appearances across all competitions so far this season, but a Real Madrid exit is becoming increasingly likely as Al-Ahli ramp up their pursuit of his signature.
