Real Madrid activate Dean Huijsen's release clause - Ornstein

Real Madrid have reportedly activated the €59 million (£50m) release clause in Dean Huijsen’s contract at Bournemouth and are now on the verge of finalising a deal for the Spain defender.
Huijsen, 20, has been heavily linked with a Bournemouth exit for several months, amid interest from across Europe, and he is now set to join Real Madrid, as per multiple reports.
BBC Sport have confirmed that a move to the Santiago Bernabeu is imminent, while The Athletic’s David Ornstein has revealed that Real Madrid have activated Huijsen’s release clause.
An agreement has been reached with Bournemouth over the structure of the deal and Huijsen’s representatives are currently in Madrid, with discussions over personal terms now at an “advanced stage.”
Los Blancos are eager for Huijsen to be included in their squad for the upcoming Club World Cup, which begins in mid-June, and they are hoping to finalise the deal as soon as possible.
The appointment of Xabi Alonso as Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement has sped up negotiations for Huijsen, with the former Real Madrid midfielder determined to bolster his backline with the addition of a ball-playing central defender.
Alonso is reportedly set to deploy a back-three system at the Santiago Bernabeu, following his success with this style at Bayer Leverkusen, and he has identified Huijsen as a priority target ahead of the summer window.

Dean Huijsen to join Real Madrid
Huijsen was wanted by virtually every Premier League club following a standout debut campaign at Bournemouth, but he is set to join Real Madrid instead and the deal is expected to be announced shortly.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United were among the English teams interested in completing a deal for the Spain international this summer, however they will be left empty-handed as a move to Real Madrid is all but confirmed.
Huijsen has made 34 appearances for Bournemouth since his arrival from Juventus last summer, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €55m.
