Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was bullish about his club's prospects of keeping Jamal Musiala long-term.

Like many Bayern players, the German wonderkid is facing some contract uncertainty. Still tied down to 2026, reports suggest that getting him to sign a longer-term deal won't be easy for the Bavarians, with BILD claiming that only tripling his current salary of €8 million will make an agreement possible.

This comes amid widespread reports of interest in the 20-year-old, with Real Madrid in particular being heavily linked with the attacking midfielder. Los Blancos, it is claimed, see Musiala as an ideal Plan B should they fail in their pursuit of making Kylian Mbappe the next Galactico.

Manchester City have also been named among his suitors, while you can never count out Chelsea. The youngster spent time in the Blues academy as a child and has admitted that he uses every possible opportunity to visit London in his free time. It's difficult to imagine Musiala staying at Bayern for the rest of his career, especially since he has revealed that he would eventually like to play in the Premier League.

Bayern to fight tooth and nail

His German club, however, will fight tooth and nail to prevent this from happening, according to CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. Speaking to DAZN prior to the Champions League win over Galatasaray - during which Musiala limped off injured - the Bayern chief was asked just how far the club would be willing to go financially in their bid for an extension.

"He still has a long contract, but of course we would go above and beyond [for a new deal]. Jamal is a very important member of the team and one of the biggest talents in German football."

"We would be foolish if we didn't want him to commit his future to us long-term. Our desire is clear and I believe that we will reach a positive conclusion."
