Lamine Yamal could be pushed towards a shock Real Madrid move by his Los Blancos-supporting father, claims Spanish media.

The Barcelona wonderkid has enjoyed a remarkable rise to prominence in recent months. Head coach Xavi made him the club's youngest-ever debutant - at just 15 years of age - at the end of last season and the still-only 16-year-old has already become a vital cog in Barcelona's side this term.

This has, unsurprisingly, earned him comparisons to one Lionel Messi, and it really is not hard to see why, even if such comparisons are always problematic - after all, he may yet end up like Bojan Krkic or Alen Halilovic, the 'next Messis' that came before him. But at the moment, Lamine Yamal looks destined for greatness - and he could even be destined for...Real Madrid.

That is at least according to AS, which claims that his Los Blancos supporting environment, particularly his father, could push him towards doing what Luis Figo infamously did in 2000.

Real Madrid-bound?

The report believes that Yamal could make the move to the Santiago Bernabeu in his mid-twenties. The 16-year-old is currently on the verge of putting pen to paper on a new deal, which can only run for three years due to his tender years.

Afterwards, the expectation would be for him to sign a proper contract that would run well into his twenties, but he would be fair game after that extension, the report goes on to claim.

Yamal, one of the world's biggest superstars by that point if everything goes to plan, would then potentially be pushed towards becoming Real Madrid's next Galactico by his Los Blancos-supporting father.

The likelihood of this actually transpiring is, of course, exceptionally small. But if recent transfer developments are anything to go by, it's clear that no player is unsellable at this point. People didn't think Neymar could swap Barcelona for Paris, or that PSG would actively try to get rid of Kylian Mbappe or that boyhood Milanista Sandro Tonali would leave AC Milan for Newcastle.
