Real Madrid still hold hope of signing Rafael Leao in the summer transfer window.

At present, the future of Eden Hazard remains uncertain, and the same could be said for Marco Asensio, whose contract is up in a few months.

Los Blancos have registered an interest in AC Milan star Leao as a replacement, according to Fichajes.

Milan currently rate the star at around €100 million, a figure representative of the winger being one of the best players in Serie A over the past couple of seasons.

Real are in the running for a Copa del Rey and Champions League double but has likely missed out on reclaiming the La Liga title.

The side have struggled with injuries for a lot of the season and some of their biggest stars are coming up to veteran age, such as Karim Benzema.

Leao has established himself as a world star when he joined the Italian giants from LOSC Lille in August 2019.

Admittedly, the 23-year-old experienced problems early on at San Siro before exploding and becoming one of their biggest assets.

Real to bolster attack

The Portuguese attacker has contributed to 23 goals so far this season - while he has found the back of the net 11 times while providing 12 assists in 40 appearances in total.

The story might come as a bit of a surprise given Real have among their ranks Vinicius Junior - with the Brazil star occupying the left-wing.

The attacker recently spoke about his form this season. He said: "I see myself playing at my best, winning a lot of Champions Leagues like Karim [Benzema] has, like Luka [Modric] has.

"They're great players who've been here and written their names in the history of the best club in the world ... I hope I can sign [with Madrid] forever."
