Red Bull’s relationship with football has benefited Austria greatly, as the country has had a massive influx in talent in recent years thanks to the energy drinks company.
One of the players to come through in recent years is midfielder 24-year-old Konrad Laimer, who currently plays for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

What position does Laimer play in?
Laimer mostly plays in midfield, either in the middle or in a defensive position, but can also play on the right side if required and has done so on occasion this season.
In previous years under Julian Nagelsmann, he has also been deployed as a right-back, providing cover when needed in the squad.

He made his debut for the Austrian national team at the age of 17 and has been a mainstay in the team for the last few years.
Last season was a difficult one for Laimer as he struggled with injury for most of it, but he made his return to form this season and has been a positive influence on the team.
Ralf Rangnick is already aware of his talents having worked with him previously and will get to continue that when the German takes over as manager of the Austrian national team.
This season, Laimer has managed five goals and six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions as Leipzig aim to win the Europa League and DFB Pokal.
Which clubs are interested in Laimer?
Over the years, several clubs have shown interest in Laimer, but the biggest talk in recent weeks has come from Manchester United, where Rangnick is a fan of the player.
The energetic midfielder would fit in well with United’s new plans for next season, as Erik ten Hag takes over as head coach in the summer.
Midfield is a position that is in need of desperate improvement for the Red Devils and Laimer could provide a much-needed boost, should he join.
Other than that, there has been interest from other Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham, but nothing is concrete.
The player is valued at £23 million – a fee worthy for a midfielder of his quality, age and potential to grow in the coming years.
