OFFICIAL: Chido Obi-Martin pens new Man Utd deal
Manchester United youngster Chido Obi-Martin has signed his professional contract with the club.
The youngster is considered to be one of the most talented players in the youth circuit today and, as of Friday on his 17th birthday, he penned his pro deal.
Obi-Martin signed a scholarship with an agreement after moving from Arsenal over the summer. United's head of the academy Nick Cox and the head of academy recruitment Luke Fedorenko were responsible for the deal to sign Obi-Martin, reports the MEN. The publication also states the teenager turned down a deal to stay at Arsenal.
It's been a brimming start to life at United for Chido Obi-Martin. He has netted four goals in two starts in the U18 Premier League so far this season. This includes a hat-trick on his Red Devils debut.
The Dane moved from Danish team KB to Arsenal in 2022 and United were alerted after he scored 10 goals in a single game against Liverpool.
He is already a youth international for Denmark and featured in the nation's UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualification campaign earlier this year.
Arsenal’s loss is Man Utd’s gain
Indeed, on his debut against Nottingham Forest U18s it took less than 15 seconds for the young talent to open his account for the club.
Benefitting from some awful defending down Forest’s left, he pounced on a shot back pass to round the goalkeeper and slot beyond a defender on the line. Obi-Martin went on to round off a hat-trick for United in the youth game.

The striker’s departure from Arsenal was a controversial one, with Obi-Martin having scored 32 times for the Gunners U18 side last season.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta had presented Obi-Martin with a clear pathway to the first team but it wasn't enough to convince him to remain.
Ultimately, after joining a new agency, he priced himself out of stay at Arsenal and instead moved to Olt Trafford.
