Gary Neville torn to shreds over Man Utd’s purchase of Antony

Gary Neville has been mocked over Manchester United’s purchase of Antony.

The former Red Devils player took to social media to query Liverpool’s interest in Alexis Mac Allister.

Liverpool have seemingly failed to bring in Jude Bellingham this summer window after they found out the price for the England international was above what they thought it would be.

Instead, they have turned their attention to Brighton star Mac Allister, with reports saying that the World Cup winner would cost around £80million.

But Neville has questioned the need to buy someone like the midfielder for such a huge fee, especially if Liverpool are looking to try and get a Champions League spot next season.

Taking to Twitter, the Sky Sports pundit wrote: “Liverpool with no Bellingham but get Mac Allister ? That Enough to get back in CL places ? £80m !!”

Comparisons to Antony

But fans online have reminded him that’s the same price Man Utd paid for Antony, who arrived from Ajax last summer.
