'Idiotic' – Twitter reacts to Ten Hag subs as Man Utd drop points at Spurs

Manchester United’s underwhelming away form continued as they threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at Tottenham on Thursday night – and fans were quick to point the finger at one man: Erik ten Hag.

The Man Utd manager came in for fierce criticism for his substitutions at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford sent the visitors in at the break in a commanding-looking position.

But second-half strikes from Pedro Porro and Heung-min son saw Spurs salvage a point, as Ryan Mason took caretaker charge for the first time since Cristian Stellini’s sacking on Monday.

Spurs' equaliser came after Antony, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Christian Eriksen and a revitalised Sancho had been withdrawn for Wout Weghorst, Tyrell Malacia, Fred and Anthony Martial – raising a few eyebrows.

And the disappointing result for Man Utd – who have conceded 11 goals in their last three Premier League games on the road – left Ten Hag facing the wrath of the club’s supporters on Twitter…
