Real Madrid announce Rudiger deal

It’s been an open secret for several weeks that Antonio Rudiger would join Real Madrid under the freedom of contract laws from Chelsea. It was announced today that he has signed a three-year deal with the Bernabeu club.

The news was greeted with pleasure from the Real Madrid support and muted disappointment from Chelsea fans, who could understand the player’s reasons for moving on.

While Rudiger is wrapped up, the saga of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona if showing few signs of concluding – although new reports suggest that he may be willing to put a deadline on the move.

Barcelona’s financial position has been made more vulnerable in the short term by the club’s decision to pull out of a deal with CVC, which would have seen them sacrifice over 8% of their TV revenue for the next 40 years.
