Aguibou Camara is a young man causing a stir with Olympiacos, where he has proven to be a prolific threat from midfield.

Aged just 20 and with little senior footballing experience to his name, the Guinea international has been performing admirably in the Greek Super League this season.

Camara's record has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs. Liverpool have been linked with the player for a couple of months, while Leicester and Newcastle are both keeping tabs on the versatile player.

Camara features as an attacking midfielder for Olympiacos. He is versatile in this role, showing attributes of a box-to-box player but also of an advanced playmaker and a shadow striker.

How good is Aguibou Camara?

Camara is a Guinea international and featured for Lille's reserve team before making one appearance for the French side. He then moved to Greece.

At Olympiacos he has tasted regular first-team football for the first time and his talent as an all-rounder midfielder is already starting to emerge.

A powerful, athletic presence, he can get around the pitch with ease but he is also very strong in the tackle and can pick a pass, too. His small stature but athleticism has seen him likened to N'Golo Kante, although in reality he plays in a far more advanced role.

His best ability, however, is probably his ball-carrying as he can maraud through the middle into space with ease.

In the game that Liverpool scouted him, a 3-0 win over Fenerbahce, Camara recorded the most completed dribbles and the most completed interceptions.

He has also shown a capability of being decisive both in terms of scoring an creating.

What clubs are interested in Aguibou Camara?

Liverpool have been linked with Camara since October 2021, at which point Greek outlet Sportime, reported the interest from the Reds was at a very early stage.

These rumours have persisted and The Sun reports that the Reds remain interested in the midfielder. Furthermore, they have been joined by Leicester and Newcastle in taking an interest in him.
