Arsenal rocked as Lewis-Skelly leads Man Utd left-back shortlist for summer transfer
Manchester United could attempt a raid on Arsenal for Myles Lewis-Skelly in their bid to find a left-back this summer, according to Sky Sports.
Lewis-Skelly was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award last season but the 19-year-old has only made one Premier League start in this campaign, prompting doubts over his future.
United want to sign a left-back to compete with and eventually succeed Luke Shaw, leading to interest in Lewis-Skelly as well as Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown and Newcastle star Lewis Hall.
Arsenal are believed to be open to Lewis-Skelly spending next season out on loan but they have previously resisted interest to sell the teenager permanently, having tied their homegrown talent to a five-year contract last summer.
However, much will depend on Lewis-Skelly’s desire to leave, with the youngster being told by Thomas Tuchel that he needs more game time to get back into England contention ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Arsenal are aware that they will need to raise funds through sales in order to sign costly targets such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Lewis-Skelly’s status as an academy graduate could prove a tempting sale to generate pure profit.

United are also understood to have made enquiries over Alejandro Balde according to reports in Spain but the 22-year-old is not considering leaving Barcelona, while the Catalan side would also only be open to his departure for a significant fee.
A move for Hall may also prove difficult, with Newcastle likely to demand a huge fee to part ways with their young defender, while the England international is a boyhood fan of the Magpies and has not suggested he is in any rush to leave Tyneside.
Newcastle may also be reluctant to consider United’s interest in another one of their top stars, having also seen Sandro Tonali and captain Bruno Guimaraes linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.
With Arsenal also having no reason to sell Lewis-Skelly to a rival for a cut-price fee, Brown may prove to be United’s most attainable target at left-back, particularly if Frankfurt fail to qualify for a European competition for next season.
Brown is also set to feature for Germany at the 2026 World Cup and a positive tournament could help the Bundesliga side generate a substantial fee for the 22-year-old, with Real Madrid also thought to be interested alongside United.
