Cristiano Ronaldo’s wish to leave Manchester United isn’t going very well, but he is still a topic of discussion amongst clubs, including German giants Bayern Munich.

The Portuguese star made his desire to leave Manchester United clear last month, but the club are adamant on keeping him and haven’t had any concrete offers for the player yet.

The likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all denied interest in signing the player, and it seems as though Ronaldo may just have to stay at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo missed Manchester United’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, citing family issues, and after returning to the club this week, he told the club of his wish to leave again.

Bayern reveal why they couldn't sign Ronaldo

Bayern Munich were seen as a possible destination, as they sold top scorer Robert Lewandowski over the summer, with the Pole going to Barcelona.

Ronaldo was seen as a possible replacement, but Bayern Munich were keen to clear the air and deny any possibility of signing the forward this summer.

Club CEO Oliver Kahn spoke about it to the media: “We discussed this issue because otherwise we would not be doing our job properly. I personally consider Cristiano Ronaldo one of the greatest footballers ever on this planet.”

Kahn added: “But we came to the conclusion that despite all the appreciation for Cristiano, he would not have fit in our philosophy in the current situation.”

Other than Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid have this week publicly denied interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo, saying it’s financially implausible to sign the Portuguese.

Ronaldo wishes to play at a Champions League club that can compete for trophies, as he wishes to have a fruitful final few years of his career in the game.

It is proving quite difficult to find him a new club, though, as the high cost of the operation – which includes a transfer fee and wage – as well as Ronaldo’s tactical fit in teams is a complicated matter.
