We are now closing in on a decade since Manchester United last won the Premier League and the 2021-22 campaign proved to be another catastrophic one for the record English champions.

Man Utd started the season with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was then sacked before Christmas and eventually replaced by interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick fared little better than his predecessor as Man Utd went the season trophyless and look like failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Subsequently, Man Utd have hired Erik ten Hag - who will come in this summer and once again revolutionise the playing squad.

Here are five wingers that the Red Devils could look to sign this summer.

Jeremy Doku (Stade Rennais)

Jeremy Doku shone for Belgium at Euro 2020 and Man Utd have been long-term admirers of the talented winger.

Unfortunately, injury has limited him to just four league starts in the 2021/22 season so far, but he has still managed to score a goal and chip in with two assists.

Doku’s biggest strength is his blistering pace, which would suit United down to a tee, with less mobile Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes in the team.

A project for the future, but with ability to contribute now, Doku could be snapped up before another top European club gets him first.

Arnaut Danjuma (Villareal)

Arnaut Danjuma struggled in the Premier League back in 2019/20, making just 14 appearances in his only season in the English top flight to date with Bournemouth.

But since then, Danjuma has been immense. A tremendous Championship campaign saw him rack up 17 goals and seven assists, which earned him a move to Villarreal last summer.

His form has continued in Spain, with 10 goals and three assists in La Liga, as well as eight goal contributions on the club's epic Champions League run.

Villarreal will be unwilling to let him go, especially given he only joined last summer, but United are believed to be interested and could pry the Dutchman back to England.

Michael Olise (Crystal Palace)

Olise has been one of Palace's key players this season in their transition to a more attacking style of football under head coach Patrick Vieira.

The 20-year-old only arrived from Championship side Reading last summer, on the back of an excellent campaign - 19 goal contributions in 37 league starts.

He has had to bide his time for his chances for Palace in the 2021/22 campaign as he has started just 15 matches in all competitions, while appearing on 15 additional occasions as a substitute.

But, Olise has an impressive return of four goals and eight assists in those starts, earning him links to sides in European competition.

Antony (Ajax)

Manchester United are clear frontrunners in the race to sign Ajax star Antony.

Erik ten Hag reportedly wants to bring the attacker with him, and this familiarity would certainly be attractive for the young forward.

He also occupies a position in which the club have struggled all season.

Antony boasts the type of thrilling profile that the club have always favoured, so for now the cards are in favour of a transfer from Ajax to Manchester United.

Raphinha (Leeds)

Raphinha is another name who could be of interest, and is someone who's been linked with several other top clubs for a while.

The Brazilian has 10 goals and three assists in the Premier League this season, for a struggling despite Leeds United side.

At 26 years old, he is also the perfect age to take the next step in his career, and taking him away from a rival team could be enticing for the Red Devils.
