Fabrizio Romano confirms shock summer return for Man Utd star

New Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti plans to bring Man Utd veteran Casemiro back into the Selecao squad.
Ancelotti will officially become the new manager of Brazil at the end of this month, according to multiple reports.
And one of his first moves, according to Fabrizio Romano, is to recall Casemiro.
Romano says that Ancelotti has an excellent relationship with the Man Utd midfielder and will speak to the player in order to bring him back into the fold.
Shock Casemiro return
The move comes as something of a shock as Casemiro is now 33 and will be into his 35th year by the time of the 2026 World Cup.
He has not played for Brazil since 2023 and a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier.
But Ancelotti now plans to bring Casemiro back as the Italian wants more leaders in his Brazil team.
Casemiro has had something of a rennaissance late into this season.

Until recently, the 33-year-old had seemed certain to be transfer listed by Man Utd at the end of the season.
But the Brazilian has been in brilliant form in recent weeks, rolling back the years and helping United reach the Europa League final.
As a result, the Daily Mirror reports that manager Ruben Amorim has been won over and sees Casemiro as an important part of his rebuild next season.
Casemiro now looks likely to stay at Man Utd until his contract expires in 2026.
Man Utd have been trying to offload Casemiro in the last two transfer windows and he was close to joining Roma in January.
The Brazilian was transfer listed last summer but the midfielder was unwilling to take a drastic pay cut as he is Man Utd’s highest paid player on £18.2 million per year.
But he is now set to stay despite being set for a 25 per cent pay increase if United qualify for the Champions League by beating Tottenham in the Europa League final.
And Casemiro could also now get a recall to the Brazil squad and go to the 2026 World Cup with Ancelotti.
