Ahanor deal agreed

Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement over their next summer signing, with a deal in place to sign young defender Honest Ahanor from Atalanta, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

Romano has confirmed that a package worth €40 million is said to have been agreed for Ahanor, who only joined Atalanta last summer for €16m from Genoa, with the deal now being formalised to allow the player to travel for a medical.

Chelsea will then decide the best pathway for Ahanor, knowing that they already have a surplus of defenders on their books as well as many youngsters on loan at BlueCo affiliate Strasbourg.

Previous reports have suggested that Chelsea could look to find Ahanor a Premier League club on loan in order to develop before linking up with the first team in next summer, having reportedly agreed a contract until 2033.

Chelsea given Scott update

Bournemouth boss Marco Rose has said he is “120 per cent” certain that Alex Scott will not be sold this summer, amid strong interest from Chelsea.

The Blues have made Scott their top target as they look to strengthen their midfield options before the transfer window closes in England next Tuesday, having had multiple offers rejected by Bournemouth for the 23-year-old.

In quotes carried by Bournemouth Daily Echo’s Alexander Smith, Rose told reporters he was “not just confident, I'm sure” Scott would stay at the club.

And when asked again if he was 100 per cent certain the midfielder would not be on the move, the German replied that he was “120 per cent” sure.

Fernandez offer expected

Manchester City are set to make their first official bid to sign Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez “in the next 24 to 48 hours”, according to The Athletic’s Sam Lee.

The Cityzens have identified Fernandez as their top target as they look to strengthen their midfield before deadline day takes place in England next week.

Chelsea set an unofficial deadline for interested parties to sign Fernandez for €140million (£120m) earlier this month - yet Man City allowed that window to pass.

However, Enzo Maresca’s side are still hoping to land the 25-year-old and The Athletic’s Lee expects “a deal to develop” within the next two days.

Delap leaves Blues

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Liam Delap from Chelsea in a club-record deal.

Forest have signed Delap for a total package worth £50 million (€58.3m), which breaks the side’s previous biggest purchase, which was Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich a year ago.

In turn, Chelsea have made an enormous profit on a player who was widely considered a flop after scoring only one Premier League goal for the club across a difficult season.

Forest have announced that Delap has signed a five-year deal with the club, keeping him contracted to the Trentside outfit until 2031.

Jackson set to complete Chelsea exit

Nicolas Jackson is closing in on his permanent move from Chelsea to Aston Villa after a deal was agreed for the striker.

A full agreement is understood to have been reached for Jackson to join Villa for €75m including add-ons, with a contract lined up until 2031.

A medical is believed to have been completed and the deal is just awaiting formal confirmation, according to various sources.

The fee is thought to be worth around €54m up front and €21m in add-ons.
