Arsenal ready to submit formal offer to Newcastle for Bruno Guimaraes

The BBC report that Arsenal are set to make an offer of £70 million (€82m) for Guimaraes to Newcastle, with talks having accelerated in recent days.

However, Newcastle are likely to rebuff the offer, with it falling far below the Magpies’ valuation, if they even consider selling their captain.

According to The Chronicle, the fee has been described as a ‘non-starter’ and Newcastle are growing tired of third parties trying to unsettle Guimaraes.

Newcastle are close to signing midfielder Aladji Bamba from Monaco but the 20-year-old is not considered a replacement for Guimaraes, while the Brazilian international has not handed in a formal transfer and is not looking to force a move at this time.

Adams wanted by Man Utd

Tyler Adams has re-emerged as one of the options Manchester United are considering to bolster their midfield this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

United have already signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans during the window and the club are seeking a third midfielder after seeing Manuel Ugarte suffer a long-term knee injury.

Adams has long-been admired by United and, unlike other targets on the club’s shortlist, the 27-year-old could be available for a reasonable fee of around £35m (€41m.)

It is believed that Bournemouth could allow Adams to leave for the right price in order to avoid selling Alex Scott this summer, with both players having two years left on their contract and in danger of running their deals down.

Man Utd and Newcastle eye Danilo

Man Utd have also shown interest in former Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo, although they will face competition from Newcastle for the Botafogo star.

The Red Devils are reassessing all their options after the arrivals of Tielemans and Santos, with the likes of Carlos Baleba and Manu Kone joining Danilo and Adams on the club’s shortlist.

The BBC claim that Danilo is considering his options after returning from World Cup duty with Brazil, with Botafogo having received offers for him of around £25m (€30m) from Palmeiras and Zenit St Petersburg.

Newcastle had been considering a deal for Danilo but their interest could cool amid the impending arrival of Aladji Bamba from Monaco as well as the signing of Ajax youngster Sean Steur.

Liverpool in ‘driving seat’ over Arsenal for Barcola

Liverpool are reportedly confident in beating Arsenal to the signing of Bradley Barcola this summer, with the Reds said to be in the ‘driving seat’ for the Paris Saint-Germain star, The Sun claim.

Andoni Iraola’s new side are looking for a marquee signing in attack after the departure of Mohamed Salah, having already seen a €100m approach for Yan Diomande rebuffed by RB Leipzig.

Diomande is keen to join PSG and his potential arrival could open the door for Barcola’s exit, with Arsenal and Liverpool keen on signing the 23-year-old if the chance arises.

However a deal could prove complicated by Liverpool also aggressively pursuing a deal for Maghnes Akliouche, whom PSG have been in negotiations to sign in recent weeks, and they may be reluctant to part ways with Barcola if they miss out on the Monaco man to their Premier League rivals.
