Liverpool and Arsenal ready to pounce on Diomande after PSG transfer twist
Liverpool and Arsenal could be given a fresh chance to sign Yan Diomande this summer, with the RB Leizpig wonderkid growing frustrated over the lack of a movement with a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
Diomande is among the most in-demand targets of the transfer window but speculation over his future has quietened down in recent weeks due to the 19-year-old giving his priority to joining PSG over every other interested club.
Leipzig have been adamant that Diomande is not for sale and they have already rejected an offer in excess of €100 million from Liverpool but the teenager is still thought to be keen on leaving for PSG.
However, PSG have not yet made an official bid for Diomande and BILD report that Diomande’s camp are now putting pressure on the French side send a ‘clear message’ by accelerating talks or risk losing out on the youngster.
It is claimed that Leipzig are demanding at least €120m for Diomande, who still has four years left on his contract, and they would prefer the player be loaned back to them for a season, although this is unlikely to be sanctioned by PSG.
Along with Liverpool and Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester City have also indicated that they would be willing to pay €100m for Diomande, giving PSG plenty of competition if Leipzig look to invite a bidding war from the interested clubs.
Arsenal and Liverpool on alert as Diomande transfer to PSG stalls
Diomande is expected to return to Leipzig for pre-season training next week after his involvement in the 2026 World Cup and there has been no indication that the player will cause a stir to force a move upon his return.
Leipzig are hopeful they can convince Diomande to remain at the club for another year by giving him a lucrative new contract containing a release clause but the winger is still keen on joining PSG if possible.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal are desperate to sign a player in Diomande’s mould and, should the Leipzig man open the doors to a move, they will likely be ready to pile the pressure on PSG by making a formal approach.
