Chelsea Transfer News Today: Charlie Cresswell deal explodes into life as €25m star told to move
All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Charlie Cresswell, Filip Jorgensen and Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea to "advance" on Cresswell
Chelsea are "on the verge of advancing" on Toulouse defender Charlie Cresswell, Brazilian journalist Joao van Boysen claims.
The Blues have been keeping tabs on the former Leeds centre-back for "some time" and now appear poised to act on their interest. The 23-year-old is a two-time U21 European champion.
Cresswell is expected to leave Toulouse this summer after already fielding strong interest from various clubs in January. He was briefly mentioned as a potential alternative to Chelsea target Jeremy Jacquet, while Rennes wanted to sign him as a replacement for the Liverpool-bound defender.
Jorgensen told to leave
Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has been urged to leave the club if he wants to become Denmark's No.1.
The 24-year-old has failed to establish himself as the Blues' first-choice option between the sticks after his €24.5 million move in 2024, and he is keen to leave the club. Jorgensen already wanted out in January, but Chelsea denied his request.
He has now been told by Denmark boss Brian Riemer that he needs to play regularly in order to pip West Ham's Mads Hermansen to the starting job for his country. "The next few months will determine who will be playing in the future" Riemer said.
"But we could easily be in a situation in September where we have not chosen a first-choice goalkeeper. It is about where they will be and what their future is at club level. It may be that the performances they deliver at club level give me some answers that I need.
"In any case, playing time is important. They both played a lot in the Premier League last season, but they were also out and they also each had their own injury history."
Alonso's Jackson decision
Incoming Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is expected to choose between Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson.
It is believed that the Blues will only keep one of the two this summer, with Delap having failed to impress in 2025/26, while Jackson was loaned to Bayern after being forced out by Enzo Maresca. Alonso reportedly wants to assess the Senegal striker before making a decision on his future.
On paper, it looks like the easiest decision of Alonso's managerial career so far. Jackson is a known entity at Chelsea, whereas Delap has shown nothing to suggest that he belongs at the club's level.
Mbaye interest reignited?
Chelsea could rekindle their interest in PSG forward Ibrahim Mbaye, who is facing an "uncertain future," as per RMC.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a successful African Cup of Nations campaign with Senegal over the festive period, but he found regular game time hard to come by upon his return to France. As a result, he could look to leave this summer.
Chelsea were among the clubs to show a late interest in him in the January window. At the time, a deal for the wonderkid was laughed off by PSG, but the situation could be different now.
