Arsenal Transfer News Today: Julian Alvarez push as €80m pursuit confirmed
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Julian Alvarez, Ousmane Diomande and Francesco Pio Esposito.
Alvarez deal still on
Arsenal and Chelsea continue to "push" for the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, according to TEAMtalk.
The Gunners are undeterred by claims that the Argentine wants to stay in Spain and join Barcelona. They still scout him on a weekly basis and remain firmly in the mix to sign him.
Atleti will not make life easy for his suitors, however. It is expected that Alvarez will cost north of €100 million in the summer transfer window.
Inter won't sell Pio Esposito
Inter have no intention of selling Arsenal target Francesco Pio Esposito this summer, Calciomercato reports, echoing claims from elsewhere in Italy.
Arsenal view the 20-year-old as a perfect backup for Viktor Gyokeres, but the Serie A giants will not entertain offers for him. On the contrary, Inter want to hand Pio Esposito a new contract until 2031 with a significantly improved salary.
The player is happy at the San Siro and is enjoying a fairytale first full Serie A season. He has already made five senior caps for Italy, scoring three times.
Arsenal reignite Diomande interest
Arsenal are once again interested in a move for Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande, according to TEAMtalk.
The Ivory Coast international has been linked with the Gunners for years due to his consistently impressive performances for the Lisbon giants, but he also has admirers elsewhere in the Premier League.
He would, however, be a potentially pricey signing due to his €80m release clause, while there are also question marks over whether the Premier League leaders need him.
Mayulu to replace Havertz?
Senny Mayulu's contract talks with PSG have reached a "dead end," reports in France state. His current terms with last season's treble winners expire next year.
Data from analytics firm SciSports shows that Arsenal would be a good destination for the versatile teenager, who can play as an attacker as well as a midfielder.
His skill set could make him a potential long-term successor - and eventual upgrade - on Kai Havertz, who could be sold in the summer due to Arsenal's need to comply with UEFA's financial regulations.
Fresneda in, White out
Ben White is facing an uncertain future at Arsenal and could be offloaded in the summer after struggling for minutes this season, TEAMtalk claims.
The former England international could be replaced by Sporting CP youngster Ivan Fresneda, who has been on the Gunners' radar since his breakthrough at Real Valladolid.
However, Man City and other Premier League clubs also hold an interest in the Spanish full-back.
