Official: Chelsea confirm January transfer agreement
Chelsea have officially confirmed that Kiano Dyer’s loan spell at Volendam has come to an end.
The England U20 international signed a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge in September before being sent on a season-long loan deal due to the newly-promoted Eredivisie outfit.
Dyer has excelled in Chelsea’s youth system since his arrival from West Bromwich Albion in 2021 and he was one of three academy starlets to make their senior debut for the club versus Astana in the Europa Conference League last season.
The 19-year-old was a crucial member of the Blues’ U21 side last term and his temporary move to Volendam was finalised in order to expose him to first-team football.
However, Dyer struggled for game time in the Netherlands, racking up just 26 minutes of action across only four appearances in all competitions.
The Chelsea wonderkid hasn’t featured in the Eredivisie since a three-minute cameo versus Heracles Almelo on 25 October and he has now officially returned to west London, with his loan spell cancelled after just four months.

Kiano Dyer returns to Chelsea
In a statement released on X, Volendam said: “FC Volendam has terminated the loan agreement of Kiano Dyer. The midfielder is returning to Chelsea FC with immediate effect.
“Because Kiano is not getting enough playing time, we have decided in consultation with Chelsea FC and Kiano to end the collaboration.”
The news has been confirmed by Chelsea, who must now decide whether to finalise a new loan deal for Dyer or integrate him back into their U21 side.
Watford loanee Caleb Wiley is also reportedly set to be recalled by Chelsea for injury treatment after missing the last two-and-a-half months with an adductor issue.
The United States of America left-back was expected to play a key role at Vicarage Road this campaign, however he has been limited to just five Championship appearances in 2025-26.
