Rangers boss Rohl demands three 'SEASON-DEFINING' January signings
New Rangers boss Danny Rohl has demanded that three problem positions be addressed by club chiefs in the January market, according to a report.
The German coach's start to life at Ibrox has been a mixed bag so far. Although he has won both of the Premiership games he has overseen, Rohl has thus far been unsuccessful in other competitions.
His first game in charge of Rangers saw his side slump to a 3-0 defeat to Brann in Norway, although that was perhaps somewhat understandable given that he had only been in the job for a few days after a ridiculous saga.
On Sunday, Rohl again tasted defeat as his spirited 10-man Rangers lost a dramatic League Cup semi-final to Old Firm rivals Celtic 3-1 in extra time. It was a loss that laid bare his side's obvious shortcomings, particularly in defence.
According to TEAMtalk, addressing the problems in the backline is Rohl's main priority in January. The report claims that the 36-year-old has demanded three potentially 'season-defining' reinforcements in the winter.
Rohl wants three signings
It is asserted that Rohl's top target for January will be a commanding centre-back who can add steel to his underperforming defence. The report does not mention any potential targets, however.
Additionally, Rohl also wants to add a mobile midfielder, potentially as a replacement for Nicolas Raskin, who is persistently linked with a January move to the Premier League after having his head turned in the summer.
The third target will be a striker as Rangers' current options have failed to adequately replace Hamza Igamane, who has scored seven goals in 12 appearances for new club Lille.
However, because Rangers spent big on Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski in the summer, the report acknowledges that it is likely that club chiefs will not grant Rohl his third wish.
