Everton prepare CLUB RECORD offer for Ballon d'Or contender
Everton are reportedly preparing to submit a club record offer worth €70 million for Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
David Moyes’ side bolstered their first-team squad with nine new additions this summer, including Jack Grealish (loan) and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but they remain eager to sign reinforcements and McTominay has now emerged as a key target.
The Scotland international has enjoyed a stellar stint at Napoli following his arrival from Manchester United last year and he even finished 18th in the 2025 Ballon d’Or ranking thanks to a sensational debut campaign in Serie A.
McTominay remains a key player for the Italian giants, despite Kevin De Bruyne’s summer move from Manchester City, but Everton are eager to tempt him back to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old has been tipped to return to England in recent weeks and Fichajes claim that Everton are ready to ramp up their pursuit of his signature by submitting a club record offer of €70m for his services.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (€49.4m) is currently the most expensive Everton player of all time, however the Toffees are reportedly ready to eclipse that fee to bring McTominay to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in 2026.
Scott McTominay wanted by Everton
McTominay divided opinion during his time at Man Utd, although Napoli boss Antonio Conte believes his star midfielder has improved significantly since his arrival in Serie A last summer.
Speaking to reporters back in May, Conte admitted: “I think McTominay is stronger today than when he arrived from United.
“Here he has grown a lot. I think that he himself feels stronger, with more knowledge, that he is also reaching an important stage of his age to understand where to go in his career because up to now he has been in the middle.
“He has never had a main role at United that instead we have given him here, he has grown a lot by working, today he is complete.”
McTominay has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at Napoli, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €55.3m
