Real Madrid’s €250m plan to sign Haaland revealed
Real Madrid continue to plan for the signing of Erling Haaland from Manchester City next summer.
Haaland has been earmarked as the player who will replace Vinicius Junior in Los Blancos’ starting XI should the Brazil star leave.
Vini Jr’s place at the Bernabeu looks more uncertain than ever, with esteemed Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague admitting that while the forward is in great form, his future grows increasingly unclear.
With the current Real Madrid player struggling to agree terms with the club, Real Madrid have an ‘exit plan’ in place for the summer of 2026, and that involves signing Haaland, according to Cadena SER.
Saudi Arabia has changed the dynamic of Vini Jr’s future. With clubs from the Pro League scrambling to sign the 25-year-old, a world-record €250 million bid is likely to be accepted by the Spaniards. In turn, this money would be used to fund an assault on Haaland.
Haaland unsettled at City?
While the Norway international has been in fine form with Man City, the Spanish press is insistent that his future at the Etihad Stadium is far less secure than his 10-year contract with the club would suggest.
There have been claims that Haaland is “disgruntled” with the state that City find themselves in, while equally it has long been rumoured that his future is tied to that of Pep Guardiola, who is evasive when it comes to committing himself to the Premier League giants.
Mbappe ‘dream’
Real Madrid are aware that signing Haaland won’t be easy, but they are hopeful that the money they receive from Vini’s sale would fuel a deal.
It is the dream of the Bernabeu side to team the former Borussia Dortmund striker with Kylian Mbappe, with the France star switching back to his preferred role on the left.
After prising Mbappe from PSG, though, Real Madrid are hoping they can produce a similarly spectacular trick with Haaland.
