Bayern's director of sport Max Eberl is a big admirer of the England international and would love to sign him on a Bosman Transfer.

But in order to bring him in, one of Dayot Upamecano or Kim will have to leave. The former also is on a running-down contract but Bayern want to extend him.

Plettenberg adds that Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all in the race, too.

Guehi to leave Palace?

Guehi was close to joining Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The England international was in talks with the reigning Premier League champions throughout the summer and he was expected to complete an Anfield switch before the 19:00 BST deadline on Monday evening.

A deal had been fully agreed between all parties, while Guehi had successfully undergone his medical at Liverpool ahead of a €40 million transfer.

However, Crystal Palace pulled the plug on the deal at the final hurdle amidst reports manager Oliver Glasner threatened to resign if Guehi was sold.

The Guardian reports that Guehi is furious and bitterly disappointed at the last-minute U-turn by Palace.

Guehi’s deal to Liverpool was so advanced that he even recorded a ‘farewell video’ for Crystal Palace fans.

This was leaked on social media, effectively confirming that Guehi was expected to join Liverpool before Palace pulled the plug on the deal.

The Guardian says that a private jet had also been arranged to take him Merseyside on Monday evening.

Guehi will not sign a new contract with Palace so could leave in January so that the club make back some money and don't lose him for nothing.

However, it is believed an exit on a free transfer at the end of the season is likelier.

Guehi has established himself as one of the best centre backs in the Premier League and was part of a Palace team who won the FA Cup in May.

Guehi grew up in Chelsea’s youth system from the age of seven and graduated all the way to the first team.

However, he only played two games in the EFL Cup before he was loaned to Swansea in 2020 and eventually sold to Crystal Palace in 2021.

At Palace he has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League, making over 150 appearances.

He has been capped 23 times by England and he impressed during Euro 2024 on the way to the final.
