Jadon Sancho has already been handed an opportunity for a fresh start when his Manchester United contract expires next summer.

Sancho is expected to be released by United despite their option to extend his deal for a further year, with the Red Devils desperate to permanently get the 25-year-old’s wages of more than €200,000-per-week off their books.

Having seen Sancho reject a number of moves away from Old Trafford this summer, United are resigned to taking a massive loss on a player they paid €85 million for in 2021 instead of trying to protect his value by exercising their option and selling him next year.

Sancho’s availability on a free transfer next summer has attracted interest from a number of clubs and the winger is believed to be tempted by a move to the MLS.

However, Sancho has not given up hope on securing a move to a top European club and is aware that he will have to prove his credentials while on loan at Aston Villa this season.

A successful campaign at Villa would also allow him to stay at the Premier League, with Unai Emery’s side now declaring their interest in keeping hold of Sancho beyond his loan spell, according to National World.

Villa looking to make permanent move for Sancho

Having not been included in United’s pre-season preparation, Sancho has been building up his fitness after joining Villa on loan on transfer deadline day, having played his first 74 minutes for the club in the Carabao Cup fixture against Brentford last week.

Sancho then came off the bench for an eight-minute cameo against Sunderland in the Premier League and Emery is said to already be keen on turning the forward’s loan into a permanent move next summer.

Villa could be operating under tight constraints next summer after finding themselves up against PSR regulations in recent seasons, while the departure of director Monchi this week will only have led to further uncertainty.

Sancho could be seen as a low-risk move with a high pay-off, having previously been considered one of the brightest prospects in Europe prior to his move to United and the former England star will be hoping to remind potential suitors of his ability with a successful stint at Villa park.
