Man Utd want to get €23m deal done 'ASAP' - Fabrizio Romano
Manchester United are pushing to complete their deal with AS Roma for Jadon Sancho, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils are looking to offload their unwanted players, chief among them the 25-year-old. Sancho is on a massive wage and has no future at Man Utd after failing to impress in his four years at the club.
With the Old Trafford club still planning to strengthen their side, they need the likes of Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho to make way. Just two weeks remain in the window, so there is a certain sense of urgency to finally wash their hands clean of this 'Bomb Squad.'
Serie A side Roma forcefully entered the race for Sancho earlier this week, making a formal bid to Man Utd for an initial loan with an easy-to-trigger €23 million obligation to purchase the winger next summer.
Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is a key driver behind the interest in Sancho, and Man Utd are ready to accept Roma's offer, as it is the 'best proposal' they have received for the outcast this summer.
Man Utd pushing for Sancho exit
According to Fabrizio Romano, Man Utd are pushing to get this deal over the line 'ASAP' as they want to free up his wages. However, the transfer insider also states that Sancho has yet to greenlight the move.
At present, Roma are still trying to agree personal terms with Sancho. The attacker is open to a move to Serie A, but he would have to give up a large chunk of his salary to make the move to the Italian capital.
Sancho has not yet made a final decision on Roma's formal contract offer, but both Roma and Man Utd are pushing to finalise the move. The Serie A side are also currently in talks with Aston Villa for Leon Bailey.
The last thing Man Utd need right now is Sancho rejecting the move to Roma. The Red Devils want to add a new midfielder and need to get rid of Sancho and the other 'Bomb Squad' members to be able to bring in another fresh face.
