Liverpool have signed Florian Wirtz for a club-record fee of €125 million, while they have also purchased Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Armin Pesci, amounting to a whopping total of €339.7m.

Arsenal sit in second place with an outlay of €293.5m, courtesy of the arrivals of Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea, who have been serial spenders under the BlueCo consortium ownership, have racked up the third-highest expenditure during the summer window so far.

Enzo Maresca’s side have spent a combined €279.7m on the signings of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez.

Despite heading into the summer on a reported budget of just €100m, Man Utd have shelled out €229.7m on Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Diego Leon, despite the fact they have struggled to offload players.

Atletico Madrid are perhaps a surprise entry with the fifth-highest spend this summer. They have acquired €179m worth of talent so far, with Villarreal playmaker Alex Baena commanding the largest fee (€42m).

Manchester City are in sixth place after spending €176.9m on six new signings: Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, James Trafford, Sverre Nypan and Marcus Bettinelli.

In seventh place is Nottingham Forest, who have purchased Omari Hutchinson, Dan Ndoye, Arnaud Kalimuendo, James McAtee, Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha and Douglas Luiz (€3m loan fee) for a combined price of €174.9m.

Real Madrid are eighth, having invested €167.5m on new recruits after a disappointing 2024-25 season. Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Carreras, Franco Mastantuono and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all joined Los Blancos this summer.

Sunderland have shown major ambition in the market following their promotion back to the Premier League by splurging €165m on nine new signings. The Black Cats have shattered their transfer record twice this summer, with Granit Xhaka among their eye-catching new additions.

Newcastle United round out the top 10 with an overall spend of €146.2m. The Magpies have been rejected by a number of top targets this summer, but they have still bolstered Eddie Howe’s squad with the additions of Anthony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey and Malick Thiaw.
