Chelsea have reportedly not offered Romelu Lukaku to Napoli as part of a deal for Victor Osimhen.

Reports from Italian media earlier this week stated that The Blues were seeking a part-exchange in order to lower the transfer fee.

Osimhen is believed to have a €120 million release clause and Napoli are said to be demanding all of it.

Chelsea simply cannot afford this if they are to sign multiple players this summer, so it would make sense to see if Napoli are interested in Lukaku.

But, according to 90min, the West London club have not offered the Belgian striker as part of a deal for Osimhen.

That is not to say that Lukaku will not be leaving, rather that his sale will be an entirely separate matter.

Chelsea asking price for Lukaku

Chelsea have set a price tag of €40m to sell Lukaku this summer in order to prevent them making a loss on their accounts.

Roma are reportedly interested in making his current loan deal into a permanent one, but there is absolutely no chance that they will be able to pay that sum of money for a 31-year-old.

The fact that Lukaku has suffered an alarming dip in the second half of the season - with just four Serie A goals in 2024 - is also an issue for Roma and other potential buyers.

As a result, Chelsea will likely have to accept that unless they are able to sell Lukaku to a Saudi Arabian club with more money than brains, they will for a third summer in a row make a big financial loss on Lukaku.
