Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag hopes to sign another player from Ajax in the January transfer window.

Having already brought in Lisandro Martinez and Antony from his former club, the Dutchman is now keen on doing the same with striker Brian Brobbey, reports The Mirror.

Ten Hag previously worked with Brobbey at the Eredivisie club, with the striker earning a move to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021.

However, he struggled to adapt to the Bundesliga and later returned to Ajax on loan before it was made permanent for €16 million.

Since then, he has rediscovered his goalscoring form, netting 14 times in all competitions last season and a further 11 in this campaign.

Still at only 21 years of age, it is certainly possible that Ten Hag could develop him into a Man Utd calibre player.

That being said, his disappointing spell in Germany is cause for concern that he is best suited to Dutch football.

Arsenal are also said to hold an interest in the young forward.

Ajax goalkeeper wants Man Utd move

Ajax goalkeeper Charlie Setford has revealed that he would love to play for Manchester United one day.

Setford, who was born in Holland and has played for Ajax since he was seven years old, also has English nationality thanks to his father.

He has played 31 games for Ajax's reserve team, Jong Ajax, and has conceded 57 goals, keeping just six clean sheets.

"England is the place to be," he told Ajax Life. "That's the best competition in the world.

"If I had to choose the clubs, it would be between Liverpool and Manchester United.

"If I have to choose, it would be Manchester United - in the 'theatre of dreams', just like Edwin van der Sar."

Van der Sar, who played for the Red Devils over 200 times, knows Setford well, as he only recently left his position as chief executive of Ajax.
