Manchester United legend Paul Parker believes that Harry Kane has made himself the object of ridicule by moving to Bayern in the summer.

The England sharpshooter departed Tottenham Hotspur a club legend in the summer, having previously been eyed by the likes of Man Utd and Man City. Kane, however, decided to head to Germany instead, signing for record Bundesliga champions Bayern for a whopping €100 million, with the deal potentially rising to as high as €120m.

With Kane having failed to achieve any tangible success in the way of winning trophies at Spurs, many believed that he would finally change this at Bayern. On a personal level, the striker has started like a house on fire, notching a ridiculous 26 goals and eight assists in 25 games in all competitions.

There is a problem, however. Bayern are already out of the DFB-Pokal, having been embarrassingly knocked out by third-tier side Saarbrucken, and they also find themselves four points off Bundesliga leaders Leverkusen. There is a real chance that Kane could finish the campaign with no silverware to his name.

'Everyone is laughing at Kane'

According to Man Utd legend Paul Parker, this has seen the England striker become the object of intense ridicule back in his home country. "Even though I'm not Kane's biggest fan, you have to respect the amount of goals he scores. It's definitely impressive," he told Wettfreunde.

"The problem is that it's not good to have him at the club. The only thing he is focused on is breaking [Robert] Lewandowski's [goal] record. That's the only thing he is interested in, and afterwards, he'll return to the Premier League and set a new record there. He is very selfish."

"You see, everyone in England is laughing at him. People spoke about him leaving because he wanted to win trophies and he'll win nothing...If Harry Kane is at your club, everything revolves around him. I think Spurs should be happy that he left them."
