A host of Premier League clubs are after Fluminense wonderkid Matheus Reis, according to a report.

The Brazilian club have made plenty of headlines in recent times. Even before they defeated Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final, the Serie A side were constantly being talked about because of one player in particular: Andre.

The midfielder has been attracting attention all year with his performances and Liverpool were reportedly hot on his heels in the summer amid their transfer revolution in the centre of the park. No move ultimately materialised, but the 22-year-old remains a sought-after commodity.

Liverpool have continually been linked with him, but they have now stopped their pursuit, though they were recently urged to go back in for Andre. Arsenal and Man Utd have also been said to be keen on him, but it is one of his teammates who is now also attracting big-name attention.

Wonderkid attacker

According to Calciomercato, 16-year-old attacker Matheus Reis is being courted by the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. Though yet to make his senior debut for Fluminense, the teenager has been called up to the first team to train alongside Andre and he is also currently in the midst of a heated battle over his international allegiances.

Due to his being born in Mexico City, Reis is eligible for Mexico and Brazil who are naturally both keen to have him in their ranks. So far, he has only featured for Brazil's U17s at the international level.

The Italian outlet claims that the clubs in talks with Fluminense over Andre used the opportunity to also enquire about Reis' availability. "Practically implacable in front of goal," asserts the report, "the 16-year-old is considered a mix between Gabriel Jesus and Marcos Leonardo and has a €50 million release clause."
