Arsenal have had an impressive window so far but not everyone is happy, with Jorginho handing in a transfer request in pursuit of a move to Fenerbahce according to reports in Turkey.

Jorginho only joined Arsenal from Chelsea in January, making 14 Premier League appearances - nine of them starts - as the Gunners finished as runners-up to champions Manchester City.

Arsenal have done some serious business in the summer transfer window since, dropping more than £200 million on bringing Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber to the club.

Rice's clubs record £105m arrival from West Ham in particular was expected to pave the way for Thomas Partey's exit, with interest in the Ghanaian from Juventus and Saudi Arabia, but Mikel Arteta has since outlined his intent to use both.

And the defensive midfielder left out now looks set to be Jorginho.

'Jorginho informs Arsenal he wants to leave'

"Fenerbahce have asked Arsenal about Jorginho's status," report Turkish TV station TRT Spor. "The player, whom Arsenal have not been planning with for the new season, has informed the club that he wants to leave them this summer."

Arsenal paid Chelsea £12m for the Italy international last winter and he now carries a transfer value of €20.5m (£17.7m) per FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, so Fener might have to exceed the club record €14m (£12.1) they paid Real Mallorca for Dani Guiza's services in 2007.

Arsenal have already squeezed a similar fee out of Bayer Leverkusen for yet another midfielder in Granit Xhaka, the Bundesliga club paying €24.7m (£21.4m) for the Switzerland captain.

Jorginho's remains perhaps the best ball-playing midfielder on Arsenal's books, but it remains the case that Arsenal were 11 points clear with a game in hand when they signed him, and ended up finished five points off Man City.
