Romano drops update on Onana ‘ISSUES’ and reveals Man Utd chasing SECOND signing
Manchester United are making positive progress to sign two goalkeepers this summer, football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
Erik ten Hag’s side have been hotly linked with Inter shot-stopper Andre Onana since it became evident that David de Gea would leave the club, while Jack Butland’s summer departure after his loan deal expired has left the former Ajax boss searching for a backup option.
Man Utd are closing in on both deals, according to Romano, representing a big step forward towards their readiness for the new Premier League season, which is little over a month away.

According to Romano, there have been some minor road bumps in the Onana case, but he says that a deal will be completed.
Taking to Twitter, he said: “No serious issues on Andre Onana deal – just a matter of time to get final details sorted, then paperwork time.
“Manchester United and Inter spoke on Friday and almost agreed the add-on structure of €50m plus €5m bonuses.
“It’s just about payment terms to be approved.”
With Onana apparently in the bank, Man Utd will increasingly turn their attention towards the player anointed as his understudy.
In this case, the Old Trafford club are ready to make a leftfield move for Urawa Red Diamonds shot-stopper Zion Suzuki, who is one of three options that Ten Hag is considering as Onana’s No.2.
Talks are taking place with the player to ascertain the terms that he would accept to join Manchester United, but talks with his club have not yet started because the Red Devils are focused on getting Onana over the line, according to Romano.
The 20-year-old is a once-capped Japan international who was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, and is the youngest player to have signed a professional contract with Urawa, for whom he has played only eight times.
