Graham Potter has reportedly rejected an approach from Leicester City.

The former Brighton and Chelsea boss has been out of work since April, when he was sacked by the Blues following a horrid six-month stint in charge.

A knee-jerk appointment after the firing of Thomas Tuchel, Potter never came to grips with his new job, though he certainly wasn't helped by the chaos created by Todd Boehly, who spent €600 million on transfers, leaving the Chelsea squad bloated and club facilities overwhelmed, while the players reportedly never took to the manager.

Since his dismissal, the 48-year-old has been linked with French side Nice, who are owned by Manchester United takeover bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Moreover, as we exclusively reported on Monday, Potter is also in the running for the vacant Celtic job.

Potter turns down Leicester

According to Football Insider, the Englishman has already turned down one offer. That approach came from now-relegated former Premier League champions Leicester.

The Foxes are coming off a dire season that saw them drop down to the Championship for the first time since 2014. Former Aston Villa and Norwich City boss Dean Smith finished the season as caretaker following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers - who is also on Celtic's shortlist - but he couldn't keep Leicester up.

The shock 2016 Premier League winners reportedly approached Potter to lead their rebuild, but the 48-year-old turned down the offer as he is not interested in taking on a job in the second division. Leicester are set for a massive summer with plenty of their stars on their way out.

The report goes on to say that Potter is keen on returning to the sidelines for the 2023/24 season. With Ange Postecoglou officially announced as Tottenham coach, the Celtic job may be tempting for the Englishman considering the Bhoys have Champions League football to look forward to.
